Intellectual Property Legal Assistant (Patent & Trademark) - HYBRID
Paramount Legal is recruiting for an experienced
IP Legal Assistant
to support a busy intellectual property practice at a well-established law firm.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and file U.S. patent and trademark documents with the USPTO
Draft and finalize correspondence with clients and foreign associates
Maintain and organize IP portfolios, files, and document management systems
Track deadlines and coordinate with docketing to ensure timely filings
Assist with assignments, reporting letters, and general IP-related documentation
Handle billing support, including time entry, invoice editing, and expense processing
Open new matters and support overall administrative and case management functions
Qualifications:
5+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably in intellectual property
Strong knowledge of USPTO rules and filing procedures
Experience with IP docketing systems and document management platforms (iManage preferred)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal billing systems (Intapp or similar)
Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple priorities
Typing speed of 70+ WPM preferred
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certificate is a plus
