Position Description
CGI Federal is seeking a skilled Cloud Architect to lead the planning, design, and execution of migrating applications and databases to the Azure Cloud. This role requires a proactive leader who can drive cloud initiatives, optimize solutions, and ensure scalable architectures that support our organization's objectives. This position is performed at the client site in Arlington, VA and/or CGI offices in Arlington & Fairfax, VA; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable at the client's discretion.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Develop and implement cloud strategies that align with business goals and objectives.
Assess existing infrastructure and applications to determine cloud readiness and migration paths.
Design scalable, secure, and efficient cloud architectures on Azure.
Create detailed architectural diagrams and documentation for cloud solutions.
Lead the migration of applications and databases to Azure Cloud, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Develop migration plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and risk management.
Work closely with cross‑functional teams, including developers, data engineers, and IT staff, to ensure successful migration and integration.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates and gather requirements.
Optimize cloud resources for cost efficiency and performance.
Implement monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements.
Implement identity and access management, encryption, and other security measures.
Stay updated with the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation in cloud operations.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for cloud‑related issues.
Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience in cloud architecture and Azure cloud migration.
Proficiency in Azure services, including Databricks and PowerBI.
Strong problem‑solving and debugging skills in a cloud environment.
Ability to work effectively with cross‑functional teams and communicate with stakeholders.
Understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements in cloud environments.
Commitment to staying updated with the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
Desired qualifications/non‑essential skills required
Experience with big data technologies.
Familiarity with data warehousing concepts.
Compensation CGI Federal’s compensation range for this role in the U.S. is $100,800.00 - $245,500.00.
