This role provides comprehensive sales, underwriting, and operational support for Large Group (51+) quoting and new business opportunities. Responsibilities include evaluating underwriting requirements, preparing accurate proposal documents, supporting brokers and carrier partners, and maintaining data integrity throughout the RFP and onboarding process. The position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple competing priorities, and effective communication with brokers, carriers, and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

Evaluates Large Group new business and add‑on risks by reviewing enrollment materials, benefit plans, census data, and medical or underwriting documentation

Uses quoting platforms and carrier tools to pull rates, benefits, and underwriting requirements and translate them into accurate proposal documents

Manages the end‑to‑end RFP process, ensuring timely, accurate, and high‑quality submissions that meet company standards

Works directly with carrier partners to request and secure underwritten quotes, confirm requirements, and ensure compliance with carrier guidelines

Generates preliminary and final quotes based on validated enrollment information and applicable underwriting rules

Enrolls new groups and members in carrier systems and verifies that all requirements are submitted and complete

Communicates with brokers to request missing information, respond to questions, and provide updates on case status and underwriting decisions

Tracks outstanding requirements and pending approvals, escalating issues when appropriate

Creates and maintains proposal templates and supporting documentation consistent with branding and compliance standards

Collaborates with sales team members to understand client needs and tailor proposal content accordingly

Demonstrates strong attention to detail when compiling benefit information, analyzing data, and presenting plan comparisons

Prioritizes and manages multiple proposals simultaneously under tight deadlines

Maintains accurate records, files, and documentation and proactively identifies potential issues

Determines when issues require escalation and uses appropriate channels to ensure timely resolution

Provides professional, timely communication with all internal and external stakeholders

Assists with projects and other duties as assigned

High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred

One (1) or more years of job‑related experience in underwriting, benefits administration, insurance operations, or related field

Large Group experience preferred

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations n/a

Functional Skills

Strong working knowledge of health insurance guidelines, underwriting principles, and benefit structures

Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal and external personnel, both verbally and in writing

Excellent customer service and phone etiquette with the ability to manage broker and carrier interactions

Demonstrated ability in proactive problem solving and issue resolution

Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines with strong attention to detail

Ability to work both independently and as part of a positive, collaborative team environment
