Volunteer: Advocacy Strategy and Messaging Framework
Seniors In Distress, Florida, NY, United States
This is a volunteer opportunity provided by Taproot Foundation, a nonprofit creating social change through pro bono connections.
We are seeking a volunteer to assist our organization in the creation of a clear advocacy strategy that includes a concise messaging framework and a six-month action plan with priority tactics, timelines, and recommended channels. The volunteer will draft core messages and a practical sequence of activities. Specific audiences and materials will be defined during kickoff.
This project will strengthen our ability to protect seniors 60+ from neglect, abuse, and fraud across Florida by clarifying messages and prioritizing outreach and advocacy steps. Volunteers will help increase awareness, support community mobilization, and enable staff to act more effectively.
Details will be provided during interviews. The volunteer will collaborate with staff to review existing materials, refine audiences and messages, and produce an implementable handoff plan so the team can adopt the strategy after the engagement.
Seniors in Distress Mission: Our mission is to create a safe space to care for and protect seniors 60 and older from neglect, abuse, and fraud wherever they live or visit in Florida (nationwide soon)
