How this role drives the company forward:
The Account Executive, Spatial Genomics is responsible for executing territory plans, managing a defined pipeline, and driving opportunities in partnership with the Account Management team. This role engages day‑to‑day with customers to understand workflows, identify opportunities, and progress deals while continuing to build technical and commercial expertise in spatial genomics applications.
The Account Executive, Spatial Genomics role is remote‑based and required to maintain residency within the identified ideal location(s) of the region.
Approximately 50% of travel, including overnight, may be required.
How you will make an impact:
As an Account Executive, Spatial Genomics, you contribute to regional revenue growth by executing consultative, solution‑based sales activities within an assigned territory. Working closely with Account Managers and Field Application Scientists (FAS), you identify, develop, and advance customer opportunities from initial discovery through close.
You apply foundational expertise in spatial genomics workflows, sample preparation, and advanced genomic analysis platforms to support customer programs, build credibility with scientific stakeholders, and position differentiated spatial genomics solutions that address complex biological questions and research objectives.
What will you do:
Delivers consistent revenue growth for Spatial Genomics products, through disciplined territory planning and execution. Develops and executes account strategies and tactical sales plans using market insights, pipeline analytics, and CRM data. Prospect, qualify, and close complex, strategic Spatial Genomics projects using consultative, solution‑based selling. Deliver clear, high‑impact presentations to scientific stakeholders. Collaborates closely with the Field Application Scientist (FAS) team, ensuring effective product support for high‑value customers and following up on FAS activities to confirm successful outcomes and delivers feedback to the FAS team. Cultivate KOL relationships across the region and leverage influence to advance new business. Apply working knowledge of RNA-Seq and Spatial Biology to customer discussions and presentations. Maintain accurate CRM records, opportunity updates, and sales forecasts. Stay informed on Spatial Biology markets, emerging technologies, and competitive offerings to support customer conversations. Provide timely market and customer feedback to sales leadership and cross‑functional partners. Supports training sessions for Account Managers, focusing on competitive selling advantages and the benefits of Takara Spatial Genomics solutions. This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
How will you get here?
BS/MS/PhD in a life‑science discipline. 4+ years of life‑science sales experience, preferably with exposure to NGS, molecular biology, or genomics tools. Experience supporting consultative sales processes and working within a team‑based selling model. Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to scientific and non‑scientific stakeholders. Strong organizational, territory management, and CRM skills. Demonstrated ability to learn complex products and apply knowledge in customer interactions. Willingness and ability to travel extensively within the region. Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record, and automobile insurance required.

The US base salary range for this full-time position, expected to be located in the Bay Area, is $135,000 - $155,000 USD. We may consider other candidates for this position with more experience and would expect the salary range to change accordingly. This range may be modified at any time at our sole discretion.
