About The Company We are a leading global law firm dedicated to excellence and innovation in serving our clients. Our culture emphasizes collaboration, continuous improvement, and forward‑thinking approaches. We leverage advanced technology and data intelligence to drive operational excellence and deliver superior outcomes.
Job Summary We are looking for an innovative and experienced Associate Director of AI Literacy to join our Data and AI team. In this high‑impact role, you will build and lead a comprehensive, firmwide AI education program serving both legal professionals and business staff. You will bring together expertise in responsible AI, adult learning principles, change management, and executive communication to foster meaningful AI fluency at every level of the organization. A key external ambassador, you will also represent our AI Literacy and governance approach to clients and at industry forums, while partnering internally with Legal, Compliance, Learning & Development, Knowledge Management, and Information Security teams.
Key Responsibilities
Own and advance the AI Literacy strategy, roadmap, and operational plan; establish clear learning objectives and proficiency benchmarks tailored to distinct audiences — including attorneys, business professionals, leadership, and practice groups — in close collaboration with Knowledge Management and Learning & Development.
Build and scale a robust engagement ecosystem, including internal awareness campaigns, adoption initiatives, audience‑specific playbooks, an AI Champions network, and an active community of practice.
Serve as the firm's internal AI subject matter expert, leading the end‑to‑end development of a multi‑tiered curriculum — from foundational to advanced — delivered across a variety of formats including live workshops, e‑learning, microlearning, simulations, office hours, and a centralized content library.
Collaborate with legal and compliance leadership to develop and embed Responsible AI principles firmwide; translate governance requirements into clear, practical guidelines covering acceptable use, risk management, data handling, and confidentiality.
Work alongside Learning & Development to deploy programming through the firm's LMS; manage tracking of completions, assessments, CLE credit eligibility, and professional certification pathways.
Partner with Product Management and Engineering during AI tool launches to ensure training materials — including prompting guidance, configuration tips, and use‑case documentation — are accurate, timely, and aligned with broader literacy messaging.
Establish and monitor program effectiveness metrics in coordination with cross‑functional stakeholders to measure adoption, engagement, and impact.
Support client‑facing initiatives by co‑developing materials with Marketing and Communications that articulate the firm's AI Literacy and Responsible AI story; contribute to proposals, thought‑leadership publications, and external events.
Deliver compelling, polished presentations to senior leadership, attorney committees, and client audiences.
Stay current on the rapidly evolving generative AI landscape, legal technology trends, and the regulatory environment; proactively refresh policies, training content, and governance playbooks in response.
Contribute to the development of accessible, practical AI guidance — covering areas such as prompting standards, model selection, risk workflows, and data retention — for a global professional audience.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor's degree in a liberal arts, technology, or related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.
Experience: At least 7 years of professional experience in a legal or professional services setting, with hands‑on exposure to AI applications and legal use cases.
Proven track record designing and delivering technical training programs for non‑technical audiences.
Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with demonstrated comfort engaging senior executives and client stakeholders.
Solid grounding in Responsible AI frameworks and AI governance practices within professional services environments.
Established track record of cross‑functional collaboration with Legal, InfoSec & Privacy, Compliance, Marketing/BD, and IT teams.
Proficiency with learning management systems and e‑learning authoring tools; advanced skills in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree, such as a JD or Master's in a relevant discipline.
Direct experience working with leading AI platforms (e.g., OpenAI/ChatGPT, Anthropic, Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini), with familiarity in prompt engineering and retrieval‑augmented generation (RAG) concepts.
Nuanced understanding of AI's evolving role, risks, and opportunities within the legal industry.
Relevant professional certifications, such as CPTD, Prosci, PMP, or a recognized Responsible AI credential.
Experience designing and tracking program success metrics; exposure to BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau, or light scripting experience (e.g., Python), is a plus.
