At Charles Schwab, we put clients at the center of everything we do. As a Director on the Retail Client Experience team, you will lead complex, high impact initiatives including but not limited to the intersection of
client experience, fraud risk, and money movement .
In this role, you will tackle some of the firm’s most challenging and ambiguous problems, where protecting and advocating for clients, enabling seamless experiences, and managing risk must all coexist. You will shape strategy, evaluate options, and influence senior leaders by clearly articulating tradeoffs and recommendations that improve outcomes for both clients and the firm.
This is a
high visibility leadership role
requiring strong judgment, executive presence, and the ability to drive alignment across product, risk, compliance, fraud, and technology partners.
What You’ll Do
Lead strategic initiatives focused on fraud prevention, authentication, and money movement, identifying client pain points and opportunity areas along with other initiatives
Frame complex problems, evaluate multiple solution paths, and present clear, executive ready recommendations
Partner closely with Client-facing teams, Risk, Compliance, Digital, Operations, Legal, Product, and Technology teams to balance client experience with sound risk controls
Serve as a client advocate, ensuring solutions protect clients without creating unnecessary friction
Build compelling presentations that translate complexity into actionable decisions
Hire, develop, and lead a small team, including responsibility for senior level talent
Influence outcomes across teams and leaders without direct authority
What you have Required Qualifications
Background in strategy, consulting, or client product leadership within regulated environments
Demonstrated success navigating ambiguous problem spaces and driving alignment through structured thinking
Strong executive communication and presentation skills, including experience presenting to senior leaders
Experience partnering across risk, compliance, and control functions
Prior people leadership experience, or readiness to step into a people leader role
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in retail banking, brokerage, payments, or digital financial platforms
Experience working on or closely partnering with teams responsible for money movement, fraud prevention, authentication, or client risk
Track record of influencing decisions by presenting options, tradeoffs, and recommendations
Experience leading cross functional initiatives without direct ownership
