Casualty Broker- Commercial Property & Casualty (open to locations across the US

National African-American Insurance Association (NAAIA), Sacramento, CA, United States


We are seeking a talented Casualty Broker to join Marsh. This role will be based in one of our larger Marsh offices in the US and is a hybrid role requiring you to work at least three days a week in the office.

Key responsibilities

Acts as lead advisory colleague on medium sized, less complex books of business.

Develops an understanding of the clients' business strategic priorities, risk strategies and risk management needs and provides advice accordingly to successfully serve clients.

Utilizes risk expertise and knowledge of industry and insurance market place to review clients' exposures and loss experience and develop solutions for standard client needs.

Executes renewal/placement strategies in conjunction with the Placement, Advisory Leader and Client Executive and executes in accordance with client instructions.

Assists in presentations to prospective clients and develops/suggests innovative solutions to client and client team members to gain new clients and projects.

Partners with Placement to receive, negotiate and evaluate quotes from carriers to deliver the best options to clients.

Builds and maintains relationships with clients, and is the primary point of contact for day‑to‑day service needs.

Maintains quality in all areas of client deliverables, including monitoring delivery and invoicing to ensure client is satisfied.

Required qualifications

5-8+ years of brokerage, Casualty programs; shared economy a plus.

P&P license or ability to obtain.

Risk transfer solutions experience for Autonomous, Mobility & Platform Risk clients is preferred but not required.

Work environment Marsh is committed to a hybrid work model, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office‑based teams will identify at least one "anchor day" per week on which their full team will be together in person.

Salary and benefits The applicable base salary range for this role is $92,500 to $197,100. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
