Banking and Capital Markets Marketing Director
Chainlink, Chicago, IL, United States
About Chainlink
Chainlink is the industry‑standard oracle platform that brings capital markets on‑chain and powers the majority of decentralized finance (DeFi). The Chainlink stack delivers essential data, interoperability, compliance, and privacy standards needed to enable advanced blockchain use cases for institutional tokenized assets, lending, payments, stablecoins, and more. By inventing decentralized oracle networks, Chainlink has enabled tens of trillions in transaction value and now secures the vast majority of DeFi.
About The Role Chainlink Labs is seeking an experienced Marketing Director to lead the strategy, development, and execution of marketing initiatives that amplify Chainlink’s position within the global Banking and Capital Markets (BCM) industry. The director will define high‑impact Go‑to‑Market (GTM) strategies for Chainlink solutions targeting BCM use cases such as tokenized assets, decentralized finance integration, digital payments, and regulatory reporting. This senior member of the marketing organization will partner closely with product, sales, communications, and ecosystem teams to shape BCM solution narratives, craft enterprise‑focused campaigns, steer competitive intelligence, and support customer‑facing programs that accelerate adoption of Chainlink’s platform for BCM solutions.
All roles with Chainlink Labs are global and remote‑based. Unless otherwise stated, overlapping working hours with Eastern Standard Time (EST) is requested.
Your Impact
Own the development and execution of global solution marketing strategies that prioritize Banking and Capital Markets audiences and key use cases (e.g., institutional DeFi, tokenization, payments modernization, cross‑border settlement).
Lead the creation of differentiated solution positioning and messaging that clearly articulates Chainlink’s value to BCM buyer personas such as Chief Innovation Officers, Heads of Digital Assets/Tokenization, Treasury/Payments Leaders, and Technology officers.
Oversee competitive, market, and audience intelligence, focusing on FinTech, DeFi, and traditional BCM infrastructure shifts, and transform these insights into actionable GTM recommendations that influence BCM product and commercial strategy.
Drive integrated campaign strategy across paid, owned, and earned channels, ensuring consistent narrative alignment and measurable business outcomes within the BCM sector.
Partner with communications and PR leadership to strengthen earned media, executive visibility, and external storytelling, specifically targeting BCM‑focused publications, conferences, and industry analysts.
Ensure tight cross‑functional alignment with product, engineering, sales, legal, and ecosystem partners to guide successful product launches and platform adoption within regulated BCM environments.
Lead customer and partner co‑marketing programs, showcasing innovation, shared success, and enterprise‑grade BCM use cases leveraging Chainlink.
Oversee executive roundtables, customer advisory initiatives, and strategic events focused on BCM audiences (e.g., Sibos, Money20/20) that deepen engagement with financial services and technology stakeholders.
Establish, monitor, and report on KPIs and performance analytics, providing visibility to senior leadership and informing strategic planning.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience in B2B or enterprise product/solution marketing, with a significant portion dedicated to the Banking, Capital Markets, or Financial Services technology sector.
Deep domain expertise in the Banking and Capital Markets industry, including an understanding of key pain points, regulatory environments, digital transformation initiatives, and the role of financial market infrastructure.
Proven ability to lead solution marketing strategy, own messaging frameworks, and drive GTM execution for complex technical products targeting BCM institutional buyers.
Deep experience marketing to enterprise financial, technical, or institutional audiences with the ability to translate technical concepts (e.g., smart contracts, decentralized oracle networks, blockchain interoperability) into compelling BCM‑specific value propositions (e.g., reducing counterparty risk, improving capital efficiency, enabling tokenized services).
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting complex BCM business cases to senior executives.
Demonstrated success operating in a high‑growth, fast‑paced, and ambiguous environment.
Track record of partnering closely with cross‑functional teams across product, engineering, marketing, sales, communications, and operations.
Strong analytical capabilities with experience leveraging data to guide decision‑making.
Preferred Qualifications
Direct experience marketing Web3, distributed ledger technology (DLT), or blockchain solutions to financial institutions.
Experience leading or contributing to PR or analyst relations (specifically with BCM‑focused analysts) within a technology‑driven organization.
Background managing or supporting large‑scale BCM industry events (e.g., financial technology summits, banking conferences).
Familiarity with tools such as Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo, or similar for campaign orchestration and performance reporting.
Experience working in globally distributed teams or across international markets.
