The Opportunity We’re seeking our first sales hire to kick off our revenue growth and scale our go‑to‑market strategy. This is a pivotal role for someone who can build and execute an outbound sales motion in the rapidly evolving edge AI and embedded systems market. You’ll be instrumental in establishing ModelCat as the standard platform for on‑device AI model development.

What You’ll Do Leadership

Develop and execute an outbound sales strategy targeting IoT device makers, automotive companies, industrial automation firms, and embedded systems developers

Revenue Generation

Own and exceed revenue targets while maintaining healthy pipeline metrics and forecast accuracy

Lead complex, technical sales cycles with engineering teams, product managers, and C‑level executives

Identify and pursue high‑value enterprise opportunities in target verticals

Service inbound opportunities while focused on outbound sales

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Partner with Product to ensure market feedback shapes product roadmap and prioritization

Collaborate with Customer Success to ensure seamless handoffs and expansion opportunities

Provide market intelligence to inform company strategy and product direction

Who You Are Required Experience

10+ years of progressive B2B enterprise sales experience

Proven track record of building and scaling sales organizations from early stage through hypergrowth

Deep experience selling technical products to engineering and technical decision‑makers

Background in developer tools, AI/ML platforms, semiconductor industry, embedded systems, or enterprise software

Demonstrated success closing 6‑7 figure deals with extended sales cycles

Industry Knowledge

Strong understanding of the embedded systems, edge AI, IoT, or semiconductor ecosystems

Familiarity with the technical challenges of deploying ML models on resource‑constrained devices

Existing relationships with key players in semiconductor, automotive, industrial IoT, or consumer electronics industries highly valued

Skills & Attributes

Experience selling new category type products

Strategic thinker who can also execute tactically and lead deals directly

Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical value propositions to diverse audiences

Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable with the ambiguity of a fast‑moving startup environment

Executive Presence

Confident presenting to and negotiating with C‑suite executives

Ability to represent ModelCat at industry conferences, with partners, and in strategic meetings

Strong written and verbal communication skills
