
Service Sales Engineer - Northeast

In this key, high‑impact position you will work with applications engineers, product engineers and account managers to design and offer Leybold service and solutions that help clients supercharge their process efficiencies. Acting as the service sales liaison between the Leybold factory and the client, you will teach companies how to maximize the life cycle of their equipment through the VTS Service Ladder. Main Responsibilities
Balance time between home office and on‑site work at technologically advanced factories to demonstrate to engineers and management how to maximize equipment life by teaching and promoting the VTS Service Ladder. Promote Leybold's service products (Service Ladder) by understanding failure modes and offering customers solutions that mitigate downtime and/or failure, maximizing the COO while delivering a positive customer experience across all markets, including metallurgy, materials, architectural glass, energy, food production technology, aerospace, automotive, electric vehicle, freeze drying, silicon carbide, high‑tech ceramics and more. Develop and implement a vision to expand business in a geographic region, encompassing existing clients and new opportunities for Leybold products and services. Delight customers by providing outstanding technical support, service, and product selection assistance. Maintain company property—such as a company car, computer, office equipment, customer demo/loaner products and consignment stock—when in your control or at customer sites. Lead the selling of the Leybold Services product range. Collaborate with the equipment sales team to conduct operational reviews at accounts, secure repeat orders and present service as a differentiator to penetrate new business. Prepare materials for presentations and deliver service sales presentations as needed. Focus on developing new business from customers that have not had their pumps serviced, are lost, due for service, newly installed equipment or competitive equipment. Analyze potential needs of assigned customers and coordinate with internal teams to deliver one‑stop vacuum after‑sales service solutions. Requirements
Education:
Engineering/science degree or technical equivalent (engineering related job experience). Skills & Knowledge:
Self‑generated leads through cold calling, blitzing, research, networking, and territory driving; experience in on‑site customer‑facing roles; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication; ability to convey technical information; create custom solutions by integrating technical resources; teamwork, adaptability, task focus and prioritization; strong PC skills (MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Other Requirements:
Prospecting and selling mentality; background in technical operational side and rotating equipment sales; high energy, curiosity, commitment, quick learner, thinking outside the box; military veterans encouraged to apply; ability to work independently in a home office; aptitude in mechanical, vacuum and fluid systems is a plus; valid driver’s license required.
