Pay range:

Starting $85,000 (Depending on Experience)

Schedule/Shift:

Full‑time, Monday‑Friday hybrid with the possibility of remote.

Location:

Portland, OR.

Travel will be required for this role.

The HR Business Partner will facilitate, manage, develop, and implement policies, programs, and procedures according to Mission’s core values and principles, acting as a true business partner for the organization.

Responsibilities

Develop and administer progressive discipline policy and procedures.

Own HR Inbox, respond to employee and leader inquiries daily, and forward any action to the appropriate HR operational group for immediate action.

Support the Employee Engagement Manager with projects and initiatives relating to the employee life cycle experience.

Support incoming phone inquiries from the administration desk.

Support the Farewell process and the termination process.

Provide cross‑function support to the HR team when required.

Keep up to date with latest HR trends and best practices.

Build partnerships with all levels of employees from individuals to teams, from entry‑level to executive leadership.

Recommend and implement strategies to motivate employees.

Conduct exit interviews, summarize findings, and discuss trends and concerns with senior management.

Coach and advise staff on solving problems and implementing resolutions for performance management challenges; provide guidance on corrective actions, corporate policy interpretation, and other workplace human resources challenges.

Participate in and support the documentation of investigations of workplace complaints and allegations such as discrimination, harassment, retaliation, hostile work environment, and policy violations.

Ensure staff receive regular performance feedback, prompt resolution, and the time and opportunity to grow professionally.

Present and train on HR‑related content and curriculum – through formal corporate instructor‑led trainings, small‑group facilitated dialogues, and through one‑on‑one mentoring sessions.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in human resources preferred.

Professional HR certification preferred.

5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.

Strong communication skills, particularly in the ability to lead training and to conduct meetings.

Knowledgeable about California and Federal Employment Laws.

Outstanding professional writing skills and the ability to tailor communication style to reflect the voice of the organization and its leadership for different communications and audiences.

Ability to remain positive and resilient while working under pressure and against deadlines.
