Role Summary This role serves as the primary contact and relationship manager for our top professional turfgrass accounts and select distributors. The Key Account Manager will support Golf Course Superintendents, Lawn Care Operators (LCOs), and management companies to promote Quali‑Pro products and programs. The position requires strong agronomic knowledge, an ability to communicate product value, and a strategic mindset to help “pull” sales through distribution partners.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop and execute key account plans by building relationships, facilitating interactions between targeted customers and the CSI technical service team, following up by implementing with sales representatives
Achieving sales, profit, and market share targets as part of the overall sales and marketing plan for the division
Act as a steward of the CSI portfolio by making recommendations and by managing complaints/issues in the field as needed, in partnership with the CSI technical service team
Manage and grow existing customer base by understanding and anticipating customer needs
Communicate sales and marketing opportunities with existing and new business opportunities
Identify and resolve any customer concerns and recommend a course of action to alleviate future concerns. Communicate to leadership quickly on corrective actions
Participate in meetings, training sessions, tradeshows, conferences, webinars, and professional development opportunities corporately and with existing customer base
Maintain awareness of pertinent customer information, future plans, payment performance, and communicate any information that would affect company decisions
Maintain an understanding and knowledge of competitor products and programs by identifying and reporting intelligence on pricing and marketing strategies
Submit ongoing account reports via Salesforce.com to include daily activities, competitor information, and customer interaction
Negotiate contracts and develop and track performance of programs
Stay up-to-date with internal and external developments and suggest new ways to increase sales
Manage expense budget and maintain regular expense reporting
Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Highly motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and as a part of a team in a fast-paced, changing environment
High level of initiative, creative thinking, decision making, and problem resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities and timelines
Inherent ability to influence with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to gain trust
Requirements
BS/BA (preferably) in Turfgrass or industry related
Ability to travel extensively within territory (80% of the time)
Reliable transportation with clean driving record
Goal of becoming successful in performing territory development activities and personal growth opportunities within Control Solutions
Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques
