The Pottsville Area Development Corporation (PADCO) is a nonprofit economic development organization focused on revitalizing downtown Pottsville and strengthening the local economy. PADCO supports entrepreneurship, redevelopment, access to capital, and community-driven economic growth.
Position Overview PADCO is seeking a dynamic Executive Director to lead the organization’s strategy, operations, and economic development initiatives. Reporting to the Board of Directors, this role will oversee programs, manage financial resources, support business growth, and build strong partnerships across the public and private sectors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead PADCO’s strategic direction and day-to-day operations
Support business attraction, retention, and entrepreneurship initiatives
Oversee loan programs, including underwriting and portfolio management
Identify, secure, and manage grant funding opportunities
Build partnerships with government, nonprofits, and private sector leaders
Lead fundraising and resource development efforts
Manage organizational finances, budgeting, and reporting
Supervise and develop a small team of staff
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in economic development, nonprofit leadership, or related field
Bachelor’s degree required (business, finance, public administration, or related field)
Experience with small business support, financing, or loan programs
Strong financial management and grant writing experience
Proven leadership, communication, and partnership-building skills
Salary Range: $75,000-$85,000, plus bonus potential
Health insurance and retirement contributions provided
Hybrid position based in Pottsville, PA (Alvernia University campus)
Standard business hours with flexibility
Some evening and weekend availability required (e.g., meetings, events, community engagement)
Preference for candidates located within or near the region
