Overview

The Director, VQ Operations will be responsible for the development and design of timely, easily readable, detailed, and analytic summary reports to stakeholders and various positions within DAR. In addition, the Director will interpret users’ business needs then translate and assemble the reports to management or users of Oracle BI and OBIEE. About the Work Unit

Manages the technology solutions for DAR which may include training, technical support, and oversight of the tools. Meets and collaborates with DAR staff to interpret business needs and assist in providing technical solutions to attain the users’ end goals. Learns capabilities of technology tools and helps the department take advantage of full offerings of technology. Stays informed on new technology to assist in maximizing efficiencies and achieving departmental goals. Looks beyond symptoms to uncover underlying causes of problems and identify ways to resolve them. Demonstrates a sense of ownership, focusing on and driving critical issues to closure. Demonstrates strong understanding of Salesforce data to identify and elevate opportunities. Handles sensitive donor, parent, friend, and student information in the strictest confidence, according to departmental and institutional policies. Works cooperatively with Development and Alumni Relations colleagues. Maintains strong and effective relationships with Vanderbilt faculty and staff external to DAR. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Supervisory Relationships

This position does not have supervisory responsibility; this position reports administratively and functionally to the Assistant Vice Chancellor of VQ Operations. Work Environment

Hybrid role based in Nashville – in the office approximately 1 day per week depending on business needs. Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree is necessary. Relevant military experience and/or work experience can be substituted for required education. Experience and Skills

5 to 7 years of relevant experience is necessary. Relevant education can be substituted for required experience. Background in supporting technology tools such as Salesforce, Salesforce managed packages, Apsana, AI, GiveCampus, Mythos or similar tools. Superior verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information. Ability to use current computer technology, such as Windows, Excel, Word, Teams, Salesforce, and Salesforce related applications. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, professional team player with courteous interpersonal skills and an excellent customer service attitude. Candidate must also have the capacity to perform in an intellectually rigorous and complex academic environment. The ability to apply sound judgment in all situations is required, as are excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail. Ability to work independently, take initiative, manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities are essential.
