Position Description:
The Marketing Coordinator manages University Housing and Resident Experience (UHRE)'s social media platforms and develops graphic materials that support the department's communications strategy and strengthen its overall brand presence. This position assists with the planning and execution of special events in the residence halls and provides direct support to the Manager in advancing public outreach, departmental communications, and the operational logistics of resident move‑in.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drafts, proofreads, revises, and edits written publications for UHRE, the Division of Student Affairs, the Office of Admissions, and other University stakeholders
Manages UHRE's social media content to advance UHRE's communications and presence, online and on‑campus, and encourages student and stakeholder excitement for and participation in the department's events and initiatives
Manages UHRE social media platforms, develops content calendars, and analyzes metrics
Conceptualizes, scripts, storyboards, and produces engaging videos for YouTube and TikTok to showcase department initiatives and achievements
Orders move‑in promotional items, manages "room stuffing", and oversees move‑in logistics and supports other administrative move‑in tasks
Maintains a robust social media presence, particularly before and during resident move‑in activities
Ensures student input is collected and thoughtfully considered for marketing and communication strategies
Supervises student workers, including social media and graphic designer assistants
Serves as a point of contact for student, parent, and staff inquiries and concerns regarding housing and move‑in activities
Coordinates and executes various events and resource fairs including orientations, housing tours, and recruitment events
Researches and orders promotional materials and manages promotional item inventory and distribution for events
Performs other duties and completes special projects as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in marketing, graphic design, telecommunications, or a related field
Experience with video creation and editing
Experience with graphic design
Experience editing copy and printed materials
Work Hours and Location This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a 37.5‑hour regular workweek including occasional evening and weekend hours as required. Additional work hours may be required based on department needs, programming, staffing, and/or scheduling. The primary work location for this position is at the Belknap Campus. Flexible hours and remote/hybrid work may be considered with job responsibilities and business needs in mind. Occasional overnight travel (for professional development, conferences, student trips, etc.) may be required.
