Summary: Goldschmitt and Associates is searching for a FOIA Analyst II to provide FOIA support for policy and program offices within a government agency. This position is a Hybrid role and requires commuting to the USDT office in Washington, DC twice per week. The anticipated annual salary for this position is up to $82,500, dependent upon experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Support required will involve various assistance-related duties to respond to requests for records, pursuant to the FOIA
Will review, organize, and analyze documents for production in response to FOIA requests, including determining responsive records, identifying confidential business information, intra‑agency, pre‑decisional and deliberative information or attorney work product, and personal identifying information
Promote transparency within the government agency by disclosing non‑exempt information directly to requestors and making proactive disclosures of non‑exempt information readily accessible via the government online electronic reading room
Appropriately apply Exemptions 1-7 when responding to FOIA requests
Utilize FOIAXpress to manage and process FOIA requests
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Strong research and analytical skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
Ability to handle multiple tasks within specified deadlines
Minimum Qualifications:
Possess at least3 years of experience working in the FOIA field providing support to, or working directly for a Government Agency
Possess a working understanding of Exemptions 1-7
Possess prior experience utilizing FOIAXpress to manage and process FOIA requests
Possess the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
