Cherry Bekaert is seeking a
Key Account Manager (KAM)
to strengthen strategic relationships with our most valuable Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies. This role is pivotal in driving growth across
audit, tax, and advisory services , ensuring exceptional client experience and alignment with Cherry Bekaert’s integrated service model.
The KAM will serve as part of the primary relationship team for designated Private Equity funds and portfolio companies, coordinating across service lines to deliver tailored solutions that address complex needs throughout the investment lifecycle—from deal sourcing and due diligence to post-transaction integration and exit planning. This role offers location flexibility within the contiguous United States, with a preference for major Cherry Bekaert markets.
Key Responsibilities Client Relationship Management
Act as a strategic, trusted advisor and main point of contact for assigned Private Equity funds and portfolio companies.
Build and maintain long-term, trusted relationships with C-suite executives, deal teams, and operating partners.
Develop and execute value‑added, client‑facing activities.
Understand client objectives and proactively identify opportunities for audit, tax, and advisory services.
Account Growth & Strategy
Develop and execute account plans aligned with client priorities, and Cherry Bekaert’s key account management playbook/growth objectives.
Drive cross‑service collaboration (Audit, Tax, & Advisory) to deliver integrated solutions.
Identify and pursue white space opportunities for service expansion across portfolio companies.
Engagement Coordination
Ensure seamless delivery of services by coordinating with engagement teams and subject matter experts.
Monitor independence and compliance requirements to mitigate risk across multi‑entity relationships.
Track and report on account performance, pipeline, and revenue metrics.
Market & Thought Leadership
Represent Cherry Bekaert at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.
Participate in client and prospect roadshows across markets and service lines where Key Accounts are included.
Share insights on Private Equity trends, regulatory changes, and best practices with clients and internal teams.
What you bring to the role
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field; CPA or MBA preferred.
10+ years in client‑facing account management or client service or business development within professional services.
Proven track record managing complex, multi‑service relationships in Private Equity or financial services.
Strong understanding of audit, tax, and advisory services for Private Equity funds and portfolio companies.
Exceptional relationship‑building, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
Ability to navigate independence rules and compliance frameworks.
Proficiency in CRM tools, account management technology/tools, and data analytics for account planning.

Pay Range $257,300.00 - $350,000.00
