Associate Director, Business and Strategic Planning – Health System Operations (Full‑Time, Corporate, Hybrid)
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) seeks an Associate Director to serve as a core member of an internal consulting team that supports senior leadership in shaping and executing enterprise‑level clinical, operational, and financial strategies. The role combines deep health system expertise with analytical rigor and precise communication.

The Business and Strategic Planning Team develops strategy and drives key initiatives across clinical service data analytics and business functions, focusing on optimal health outcomes, revenue optimization, cost containment, and high‑impact opportunities.
Responsibilities
Independently manage key strategic and operational initiatives from scoping to execution.
Coordinate across stakeholders to keep initiatives on track and ensure alignment with system goals.
Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, and implementation plans for new business and clinical programs.
Facilitate meetings and maintain clear documentation of processes and project progress.
Anticipate challenges and develop proactive solutions in collaboration with senior leadership.
Design and conduct sophisticated analyses combining clinical, operational, financial, and market data to inform decision‑making and identify actionable opportunities.
Perform demand/supply modeling, demographic analysis, and performance benchmarking.
Translate findings into clear insights that support business cases and investment decisions.
Develop presentation‑ready slides and documents for senior and executive audiences.
Summarize findings, insights, and recommendations into digestible formats for diverse stakeholders.
Support the preparation of updates for governance bodies and internal decision‑making groups.
Stay current on industry trends, healthcare delivery innovations, and market dynamics.
Apply healthcare strategy knowledge to bring actionable insight to Mount Sinai’s clinical and business operations.
Identify and pursue opportunities for Mount Sinai to lead in targeted areas of innovation and transformation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in business, public health, or related field strongly preferred.
Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare strategy, consulting, business development, or a similarly analytical, high‑impact field.
Prior experience in healthcare delivery systems, payers, or health technology is strongly preferred.
Demonstrated experience in independently managing complex projects or workstreams.
Proficiency in Excel and Tableau and familiarity with standard health‑care data sources.
