About the Role: We are looking for an experienced, AI-fluent account management leader to lead a team responsible for renewals, retention, cross-selling, pricing strategy, and growth across a high-value subscription book of business.

As Director, Account Management, you will lead a team and help raise the bar on execution across a complex customer portfolio. You will lead a disciplined account management motion focused on renewals, retention, cross-selling, and long-term customer value, while partnering cross-functionally to deliver a strong customer experience.

You are a commercially minded, data-driven, AI-fluent people leader who brings structure to ambiguity and knows how to focus teams on the highest-impact work. You combine strong commercial judgment with a rigorous approach to execution, and you know how to coach teams to use customer diagnostics, thoughtful planning, and data-backed decision-making to drive results.

Location This position supports remote work and should be based near one of our U.S. East Coast office locations or in-person hybrid at our Carlsbad, CA location.

What You’ll Do

Lead, coach, and develop a team of Account Managers, building a high-performing, inclusive, disciplined, and accountable team culture

Own team performance across renewals, retention, cross-selling, pricing strategy, forecast accuracy, and growth

Drive a structured account management approach, including customer diagnostics, book segmentation, proactive renewal planning, and risk identification

Guide the team in executing data-driven engagement and business development campaigns that support retention, cross-selling, and growth

Partner with the team on complex deals, retention risks, executive-level customer conversations, and non-standard renewal scenarios

Use data, dashboards, and Salesforce rigorously to inspect pipeline health, drive accountability, and improve outcomes

Set a high bar for execution excellence, ensuring the team operates with consistency, urgency, discipline, and rigor

Collaborate closely with Customer Success, Product, Support, Sales, and leadership to deliver a strong customer experience

Champion adoption of AI-enabled tools and workflows that improve account planning, data analysis, and team productivity

Develop talent, raise performance standards, and help shape the future of account management at 3E

What Makes You a Great Fit

Track record of success in account management or a similar renewal-focused commercial role in a SaaS, subscription, or other recurring-revenue business

Track record of leading, coaching, and developing quota-carrying Account Managers responsible for renewals, retention, cross-selling, and growth

Strong understanding of a disciplined account management motion, including customer diagnostics, book segmentation, renewal planning, and proactive risk identification

Ability to coach teams on building and executing a planned approach to renewals, including early engagement, account insights, value-based pricing, retention strategy, cross-sell opportunity identification, and executive alignment

Experience helping teams prioritize accounts in the book of business based on renewal timing, customer health, growth potential, and retention risk

Strong commercial judgment in complex renewal, retention, pricing, and non-standard deal situations

Experience supporting complex customer situations and executive-level customer conversations

A highly data-driven leadership style with strong Salesforce rigor and comfort managing through dashboards, reporting, forecasting, and pipeline inspection

AI fluency and comfort as an enthusiastic user of AI-enabled tools to improve planning, analysis, workflow efficiency, and day-to-day execution

Strong communication, prioritization, and team leadership skills, with a clear focus on execution excellence, accountability, and proactive ownership

Pay Transparency The estimated Annual On-Target Earnings (OTE = base salary + variable) for this role is $250,000 - 300,000. This role qualifies for uncapped commissions. The final offer will depend on several factors, including the successful candidate’s skills, depth of work experience, location, and relevant licenses/ qualifications. Each offer is determined based on individual strengths and relevant business considerations.

In addition to the base salary, certain roles may qualify for a performance-based incentive and/or equity, with eligibility depending on the position. These rewards are based on a combination of company performance and individual achievements.
