
SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant (FI, FI-AA) - U.S. Citizenship Required

Position Description
CGI is seeking a high‑potential Senior SAP S/4HANA Functional Consultant with experience in SAP ECC or S/4HANA Finance (FI) and Asset Accounting (FI‑AA) modules. The successful candidate will work closely with clients to lead workshops, understand business requirements, design and present solutions, configure SAP, and complete full software lifecycle implementations supporting FI‑AA business processes within the federal government. The primary focus is on design, configuration, and testing in SAP S/4HANA Public Sector, with the expectation that the candidate will demonstrate or develop the ability to mentor an Agile team focused on FI and FI‑AA modules. This role requires experience with SAP Federal Financial Accounting processes and solutions.
This position is located in one of CGI Federal's offices in Fairfax, VA; Lebanon, VA; Lafayette, LA; or Knoxville, TN; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable. You will be required to work in a CGI Federal office two days per week.
Your future duties and responsibilities
Facilitate the implementation of requirements, design solutions, and configure SAP FI‑AA for the public sector to enhance client business functionality and overall performance while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Lead workshops to review business requirements and translate them into system requirements, identifying gaps, issues, and workaround solutions across financial management, procurement, and asset management functions.
Act as a liaison with the client for troubleshooting by investigating, analyzing, and resolving software issues; mapping client business requirements, processes, and objectives; and developing product modifications as needed.
Perform design, configuration, and testing of FI and FI‑AA modules in SAP S/4HANA to support FI‑AA business processes.
Create Functional Design Documents (FDDs) and support the development of Technical Design Documents (TDDs) and future‑state process designs for SAP S/4HANA solutions.
Take primary responsibility for the successful implementation of SAP S/4HANA, providing functional expertise, guidance, presentations, and instruction on SAP products to clients.
Required Qualifications To Be Successful In This Role
U.S. citizenship and successful completion of a CGI background check are required prior to beginning work. Candidates must also have the ability to obtain and maintain a DHS EOD/Public Trust clearance.
A minimum of 3–5 years of SAP consulting experience with FI and FI‑AA modules.
Knowledge of financial management best practices, including demos, test scripts, and functional/technical design documents.
Experience in configuration and implementation of FI and FI‑AA.
Knowledge of key integration points between SAP modules.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and discuss strategies and technical information in a way that establishes rapport and ensures understanding for both technical and non‑technical audiences.
Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations.
Strong organizational skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
Desired qualifications
Experience using SAP Activate methodology.
Experience with end‑to‑end SAP implementations.
SAP S/4HANA certification.
Experience integrating with SAP application areas including Finance (FI) and Asset Accounting (FI‑AA).

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit‑based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 - $194,000.00.
