The position is also accountable for the effective and efficient operation of Carnival Corporation’s onboard casino marketing operations and player development programs. The position reports to the Senior Vice President, Global Gaming (GG).
The VP, Global Gaming Marketing, leads the development, implementation, execution, and analysis of marketing and player development programs. The role is responsible for developing and implementing a well‑defined and actionable annual marketing plan in support of revenue growth objectives while aligning with cruise line strategies. The key areas supported by this role include: External Partnership Marketing; Insights and Analytics; Marketing operations and technology; Group Experiences (events) and Merchandising, and Player Development. The position builds strong working relationships with cruise line onboard revenue, hotel, F&B, and operations and marketing heads, ensuring alignment of objectives and necessary resources available to accomplish our joint goals. The role includes development, implementation, and maintenance of a data management plan for the targeted customer database.
The VP, GG Marketing, supports multiple stakeholders and regularly communicates progress and results to senior management as well as individual cruise lines. The position provides valuable input to, and leadership of, Global Gaming’s overall strategic plan and results.
Responsibilities
In collaboration with GG executive leaders and Operating companies, develop, execute, monitor, and analyze GG’s annual marketing plan to optimize shareholder return, guest experience, and return visitation.
Providing a cross‑brand perspective and interaction.
Delivering valuable insights and measurable results from marketing and player development activities.
Direct the Partnership Marketing Program in the acquisition of valuable land‑based casino customers.
Oversee the VIP Marketing function, including the maximization of revenue driven from our best players and the VIP Services organization.
Track the pace and progress of campaigns and initiatives.
Surface issues, resolve roadblocks, and mitigate risks.
Build new competencies within Global Gaming to benefit current and future projects.
Serve as a key member of Global Gaming Executive Leadership.
Develop short and long‑term strategic direct marketing campaigns in collaboration with the brands.
Cultivate external partners on ongoing, mutually beneficial promotional campaigns.
Work with cruise brands to drive player development and oversee effective database marketing, such as direct mail, player tracking, and promotions.
Establish and maintain the GG marketing budget, including forecasting and revenue projections.
Monitor competitive products, marketing activities, and players’ clubs, and develop appropriate action plans.
Review and stay current on technology that may enhance guest experience, automate manual functions, and drive incremental revenue.
Requirements
Significant management and leadership experience in casino marketing, promotions, direct marketing, and player development.
Strong CRM skills – Development of direct/email programming.
Promotion development – Development and analysis of successful onboard promotional activity.
Player development – Maximization of both our existing player base and acquisition of new players.
Strong analytics background – Continual evaluation of program success/failure to maximize net revenue.
Strong collaborative skills – The ability to lead, convince, sell‑in, and update partners.
Strong written and oral skills.
Marketing skills – Current understanding of digital marketing initiatives, social media relationship strategies, player rating systems, casino marketing, and gaming policies, procedures, and theories. Prior involvement in successful customer loyalty programs.
Data management skills – Current knowledge of databases, data management, and analytics required for successful direct marketing campaigns. Knowledge of appropriate financial management tools, information systems, and applications.
Leadership/relationship skills – A leader who can create and excel in a team‑oriented environment and build relationships and credibility with brand marketing and onboard revenue teams.
Project management/implementation skills – An individual who drives the execution of marketing initiatives, solves problems and takes decisive action in rectifying issues, and is well organized and rigorous in prioritizing projects.
This position is classified as “in‑office.” Employees must work from a designated Carnival office in South Florida Monday through Thursday. Friday may be worked from home. Candidates must be located in (or willing to relocate to) the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area.
