Kodak is looking for a Business Development Director to join our Printed Electronics team in Rochester, NY. This is a Rochester-based position with a hybrid work schedule.
Travel - required up to 20-25%.
Reporting to the VP of Printed Electronics, this role will manage both new and existing customers. It is expected that the successful candidate will have a strong track record of expanding the sales of products and services for existing customers and onboarding new customers that are aligned with manufacturing capabilities and organizational strategy. The Business Development Director is a member of the printed electronics leadership team, with responsibilities encompassing sales, B2B relationships, strategy and competitive analysis.
The printed electronics manufacturing process utilizes production-scale, roll-to-roll equipment in class 1,000 and 10,000 cleanroom environments. The equipment is used for the development and manufacturing of printed electronics using two fundamental process blocks: 1) flexographic printing and 2) electroless copper plating. Printed electronics products are tested for performance both in-line on roll-to-roll equipment, as well as off-line.
Responsibilities
Generating new business leads through networking, outreach and referrals for a portfolio of products including roll-to-roll contract manufacturing and EKTAFLEX high-resolution functional printing pre-press HW, consumables and services.
Maintaining existing and building new long-lasting relationships with partners, collaborators and other businesses
Coordinate requirements/specification/delivery discussions between Kodak’s production engineers and designers and customers
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, product) to support business growth
Develop and deliver customer proposals and quotations, and manage invoicing and reporting processes
Negotiate terms and conditions for new business deals including supply agreements and technical services agreements
Assess industry events (including in-person and virtual trade shows) for participation ROI, plan and coordinate exhibitions at committed shows
Participate in industry events and online webinars, including giving presentations on technology and ensuring availability of appropriate marketing collateral
Find and vet integration partners to enable the delivery of complete solutions to customers
Researching competitors and industry trends to feed the organization’s strategic plans
Required Skills
Minimum Experience Level - 10+ years
Educational Requirements - Minimum B.S. Degree in a relevant technical field, such as engineering, material science, or physics
Knowledge electronic properties of materials and basic electrical circuit function
Experience with business-to-business (B2B) sales for a contract manufacturing organization
Experience in B2B sales, particularly in complex or long-cycle sales environments
Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical issues across stakeholder groups and drive to resolution
Ability to transition customers from R&D to volume manufacturing through collaboration across internal and external stakeholders using formal commercialization processes.
Strong negotiation and persuasion skills to convert leads and connections into long-term partnerships
Strategic mindset with the ability to align new opportunities with broader business objectives and market positioning
Excellent customer service, interpersonal communication and presentation skills
Desired Skills
Experience managing customer relationships across multiple levels of an organization from C-suite to Engineer.
Knowledge of the printed and/or flexible electronics film markets and products
Experience in roll-to-roll manufacturing, functional printing, printed electronics, flexible electronics, and/or additive manufacturing.
Understanding of transparent conductive films properties
Familiarity with RF devices and performance metrics
