What We Look For
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited institution is essential.
A valid license to practice law, in good standing, must be held in the applicable state(s) by the start date of employment.
It is required that candidates maintain their license to practice law in good standing throughout their employment.
Expertise in the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and experience applying it in a product counsel or regulatory advisory capacity
Over 6 years of experience as a practicing attorney, with the ability to advise senior executives on strategic direction while managing legal, regulatory, and reputational risk
Ability to be a trusted partner to the Alternative Data team, aiding in product development and contractual matters
The skill to provide clear and concise legal guidance to internal stakeholders to inform high-level strategic decisions
Self-motivated with the capability to work independently when needed
Strong organizational, project management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with comfort in handling multiple tasks simultaneously
Experience in navigating matrixed organizations effectively
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in advising clients on negotiating financial, data, and technology agreements within a regulated landscape
Understanding of banking, lending, privacy, and data sharing laws, particularly the FCRA, GLBA, and 1033
Your Impact
Serve as the Senior Product Counsel for the Alternative Data team, evaluating and enhancing product offerings
Provide legal insights to internal teams to support informed business decision-making
Accountable for drafting templates for new product agreements
Negotiate partner and data provider contracts
Offer guidance on legal changes, contracts, and implications for the company’s strategy
Stay updated on legislative and regulatory developments that may affect operations
Collaborate with other attorneys on various matters, including those with potential litigation risks
Maintain confidentiality regarding company business and information

This hybrid role requires regular in-office attendance at a designated TransUnion office for at least two days each week.
