SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE AND FUNCTION:
The
Sr. Director of Talent Learning & Culture
leads the Talent, Learning and Culture Center of Expertise for VCA. This team is responsible for executing the MVH CoE Strategy by supporting the design and proposing specific adaptation to VCA. This team leads the execution of processes, tools, and change management for the mentioned themes, in strong collaboration with the P&O Business Partnering team, other P&O departments, and Business Leaders.
The Sr. Director of Talent Learning & Culture is leading a team of 5 to 10 associates in total.
The Sr. Director Talent Learning & Culture reports to the VCA People & Organization (P&O) Vice President, and is a member of the VCA P&O Leadership Team. The Sr. Director, together with the P&O LT, contributes to the development of the People Strategy.
The Sr Director must be able to work both operationally (zoom in) and strategically (zoom out), quickly nwhat’s needed, proactively define pragmatic solutions that are fit for the Veterinary profession and our culture and mobilize teams to make it happen. This person needs to be savvy managing complex matrix organizations, getting things done through high collaboration, relationships, and stakeholder management. This person needs to be savvy prioritizing and managing and delivering work with limited resources.
Essential Responsibility/Tasks:
Partner with MVH to design programs, processes, and tools, and own the execution and deployment at VCA for the following themes: Talent (PDP, MDR, Succession Planning, Employer Value Proposition, etc.), Culture (MAS, Five Principles, Mars Champions, I&D, Onboarding, etc.), and Learning (Leadership Development, Instructional Design, Facilitation, etc.).
Co-create with P&O Business Partners and other P&O teams to define the right solutions, tools, and change management approaches to bring the agenda to life in a meaningful and appropriate way for the Support Office and Field Operations.
Hire, onboard, develop, engage, manage performance and retain members of the P&O TLC team.
Contributes to the development of the People Strategy with VCA P&O Leadership Team to deliver VCA business strategy. Partners with the P&O LT to foster a high performing leadership team and to deliver P&O programs to increase the connectivity and engagement of teams and Associates.
Analyze data with relevant tools and available systems to generate insights and influence decision making. Assist with identification of measurable learning outcomes for VCA to support the goal of tracking how learning elements contribute to the business unit's goals. Drive annual learning needs and gap analysis across all areas of the business and works with appropriate stakeholders to develop ways to efficiently meet those needs.
Partners with functional leaders and key stakeholders to support business strategies.
Fulfill other related duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combinations of education and experience, Masters Degree preferred
15+ years’ experience in Talent, Culture and HR Generalist roles, Multi-unit HR experience in services environment preferred
HR Certification from HRCI or SHRM preferred
High computer proficiency
Ability to read, write, and speak English
Travel up to 30%

Working Conditions:
Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, and move) up to 50 pounds. Lifting higher weights requires requesting assistance from another associate.
Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate necessary equipment.
Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision.
Occasionally exposed to airborne particles and illness from patients and chemicals related to animal care and office equipment.
The noise level in the work environment is normally moderate.
Environment where pets are present.

Additional Information: Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $200,476 - $250,595. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only.
