
Product Developer / Designer, Sweaters – Junior's Apparel

We are seeking a talented and motivated Product Developer / Designer for Sweaters to join our growing design team focused on the Junior women's market. This role will support the seasonal development of trend-forward sweater collections that align with our brand DNA while appealing to the needs of our retail partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly skilled in sweater construction, and proficient in Illustrator sketching, with a passion for knitwear innovation and commercial design.
Responsibilities
Support the Design Director in the design and execution of seasonal sweater collections from concept through production, alongside the team
Maintain product development calendars and ensure timely delivery of design packages and samples
Track samples, updates, and vendor submissions to ensure consistency across styles and lines
Create clear and detailed flat sketches and technical design packages using Adobe Illustrator and PLM systems
Assist in yarn, gauge, stitch, and trim selection to ensure product aligns with brand and cost targets
Communicate clearly with overseas vendors on design intent, construction, and sampling needs
For styles selected, you're responsible for creating tags and completing Walmart paperwork
Research and identify emerging trends in the junior knitwear market to inform design direction, considering competitors and across various market tiers
Requirements
4+ years of experience in apparel, with a focus on sweaters or knitwear
Understanding of sweater construction, yarn types, gauge variations, and knitting techniques
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator
Familiarity with PLM systems and tech pack creation
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Prior experience working with Walmart, the Junior and/or Young Women’s market is preferred

Hybrid Work Schedule 4 days a week in the office, Fridays' work from home
