Territory Sales Manager - Veterinary Industry

Gexfix - Distribution Partner of Assut Europe, New York, NY, United States

Gexfix International Corp. is the official U.S. distribution partner of Assut Europe S.P.A., an Italian manufacturer of premium veterinary surgical sutures and medical devices with over 30 years of market experience. Headquartered in New York with a regional office in Boca Raton, FL, Gexfix serves veterinary professionals across 8+ countries with a portfolio that includes absorbable and non-absorbable sutures, barbed sutures, skin adhesives, staplers, and advanced laparoscopic instruments. All products are manufactured in Italy under ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14001 certifications.

As we accelerate our expansion into the U.S. veterinary suture market, we are seeking a dynamic, results-driven Territory Sales Manager to spearhead market penetration, drive revenue growth, and establish Gexfix as a leading brand among veterinary clinics, hospitals, universities, and corporate veterinary groups nationwide.

POSITION SUMMARY The Territory Sales Manager will own the full Territory sales strategy for Gexfix’s veterinary suture and surgical consumables portfolio. This is a high-impact, hands-on sales leadership role responsible for driving revenue growth by leveraging an established personal network of veterinary clinics, hospitals, university teaching programs, corporate groups, and regional distributors to achieve aggressive monthly and annual sales targets. The successful candidate will be a proven individual contributor who leads by selling – personally managing key accounts, building distributor and clinic relationships, and expanding geographic coverage across all 50 states as the business grows.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop and execute a comprehensive U.S. market penetration strategy for veterinary surgical sutures and consumable medical devices.

Achieve a minimum monthly sales target of 2,000 boxes during the probation period, scaling toward $1–2 million in annual sales revenue.

Identify, pursue, and close accounts across veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, university veterinary programs, and corporate veterinary networks.

Drive repeat purchase cycles by leveraging the consumable nature of suture products and building strong client retention programs.

Penetrate the U.S. market across all regions, building a sustainable and growing client base nationwide.

Establish and manage physical sales channels including direct clinic sales, regional distributor partnerships, and strategic alliances – this role is focused on in-person/B2B channels, not e-commerce.

Build relationships with small, mid-size, and large veterinary supply distributors to expand product reach and availability.

Define territory priorities, sales pipeline management processes, and account growth strategies.

Support the gradual expansion of sales coverage by contributing to team growth as the business scales.

Relationship & Network Management

Leverage and expand a deep, pre-existing network of contacts across veterinary clinics, hospitals, university teaching hospitals, corporate veterinary groups, and regional distributors.

Represent Gexfix at industry trade shows, conferences (e.g., VMX, WVC, AVMA Convention), and regional veterinary events.

Build strategic alliances and co-marketing partnerships to accelerate brand awareness and product adoption.

Present a detailed, actionable U.S. market penetration plan as part of the interview process, outlining target accounts, timelines, channel strategy, and revenue projections.

Provide regular sales forecasts, pipeline reports, competitive intelligence, and market analysis to senior leadership.

Collaborate with marketing, product management, and operations teams to align go-to-market initiatives with supply chain and inventory capabilities.

Maintain a CRM system for pipeline tracking, client management, and performance reporting.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience & Track Record

Minimum 10+ years of progressive sales experience in the veterinary, medical device, or surgical consumables industry within the U.S. market.

Proven track record of managing or personally generating $10–30 million in annual sales revenue.

Demonstrated ability to drive sales growth in a market-entry or growth-stage environment through personal selling and relationship building.

Direct experience selling consumable/disposable products (sutures, surgical supplies, or similar recurring-purchase medical products) into veterinary or medical channels.

Network & Industry Relationships

Extensive, established relationships with veterinary clinics, animal hospitals, university veterinary teaching hospitals, corporate veterinary groups, and distributors across the U.S.

Deep understanding of the veterinary surgical supply procurement cycle and buying decision-makers.

Existing book of business or demonstrable portfolio of key veterinary accounts.

Education & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Veterinary Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.

Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and consultative selling skills.

Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales analytics tools.

Willingness to travel extensively (50–60%) across the U.S. for client meetings, trade shows, and account management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience selling surgical sutures specifically in the veterinary or human medical market.

Experience working with European-manufactured medical devices and navigating FDA/USDA regulatory considerations for veterinary products.

Familiarity with veterinary GPOs, buying cooperatives, and institutional procurement processes.

Experience launching or scaling a brand in the U.S. market for an international medical device company.

Professional network within key industry associations such as AVMA, AAHA, or state-level veterinary medical associations.

WORK ARRANGEMENT Gexfix International Corp. is headquartered in New York. However, this position is open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. What matters most is a strong customer base and established network in the American veterinary market. The candidate can be based wherever makes the most sense for their territory and relationships.
