TDS Telecommunications LLC . This position is focused on drafting, reviewing, and coordinating legal documents for high-volume real estate transactions while supporting our legal department’s broader efforts to manage and optimize the real estate portfolio.
Overview The hybrid schedule requires on-site work at our Chicago, IL office Monday through Wednesday, and remote work from home Thursday and Friday.
Responsibilities
Draft, review, and revise a variety of real estate legal documents, including leases, lease amendments, easements, license agreements, access and utility agreements, memorandums of leases, option agreements, and asset purchase agreements.
Manage end-to-end real estate transactions: coordinate due diligence, collect and review documents, prepare closing documents, and facilitate execution and recording of documents.
Review and summarize title reports, surveys, and legal descriptions for accuracy and compliance with transaction requirements.
Maintain, track, and update legal records, critical dates, document versions, and real estate databases to ensure ongoing compliance and efficiency.
Coordinate across departments (Legal, Asset Management, Sales, Operations, Finance) to meet transaction timelines and resolve issues.
Serve as a liaison with vendors to manage transaction workflows and ensure proper documentation and filing.
Assist with document management, e‑filing, and administrative tasks.
Contribute to special legal projects and process improvements initiated by the legal team.
Required Qualifications
Associate’s degree (or higher) OR 2+ years professional experience.
1+ year(s) of experience as a real estate legal professional in a real estate law firm or corporate legal department.
Other Qualifications
Proven experience handling high-volume, deadline-driven real estate transactions.
Experience drafting legal real estate documents including NDSa, SNDAs, MOLs, site license agreements related to Master Lease Agreements, and amendments to legal agreements.
Strong knowledge of real estate transactional processes, including title and survey review, lease negotiations, and closing coordination.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Familiarity with real estate management systems (e.g., NexsyOne, Site Tracker, SiteVizion or equivalent) is a plus.
High proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with document management platforms preferred.
Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Experience at a tower company or national carrier preferred.
