Job Summary As a Sales Consultant, you’ll power business success by pursuing new prospects, sharing and quantifying TriNet’s value proposition, and selling TriNet’s comprehensive HR solution—benefits, payroll, and HR services—to companies with 5‑99 employees within your designated territory.
Essential Duties / Responsibilities
Develop an annual plan to hit targets in a defined territory covering multiple states and a diverse portfolio of industries centered around larger businesses with 5‑99 employees.
Consistently build a balanced pipeline of target prospects through cold calling, email, phone, LinkedIn, and leveraging ecosystem partners for referrals.
Qualify opportunities quickly using a strong understanding of target market and decision‑making personas.
Establish a trusted advisor relationship inside TriNet and within the prospect’s decision‑making system to gain successful long‑term client relationships.
Execute a sophisticated, multi‑step selling process with defined criteria, executive sponsorship, and internal business processes, balancing multiple complex opportunities in parallel through a typical 3‑6‑month sales cycle.
Utilize sales systems—including Salesforce.com, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, ZoomInfo, and quoting tools—to efficiently manage daily activities.
Achieve quota targets by meeting sales activity metrics and completing administrative tasks in a timely manner.
Demonstrate TriNet’s core values daily.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Typically 3+ years of experience in a B2B complex sales cycle role.
Proven PEO experience preferred.
Bachelor’s degree desired or equivalent education and related work experience.
Skills and Abilities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build your own book of business from prospecting, sourcing, establishing and maximizing partner and referral networks.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and sales opportunities at different stages.
Experience with technology and common software and web applications—including MS Office and Salesforce.com.
Detail‑oriented and a proven dedication to high professional ethical standards.
Ability to adapt to a fast‑paced continually evolving business and work environment while balancing priorities.
Travel Requirements
Ability and willingness to travel to prospective clients’ sites within your assigned territory.
Work Environment Work in a clean, pleasant, and comfortable home or office setting. Remote work options may be considered and require reliable internet service.
Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this role is $75,000 to $95,700. Final offers are based on skills, education, location, and experience. Candidates hired into the sales organization are eligible for commissions consistent with TriNet’s commission plan. TriNet offers a broad benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, life and disability insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, an employee stock purchase plan, company holidays, PTO, and a comprehensive leave program.
