The role supports the Application Sales Engineering (ASE) team by evaluating request for quotes (RFQs), sizing and applying equipment correctly, and delivering accurate quotes—initially focused on chassis and enclosed panel

VFD products, with expanding product responsibility in the future. Primary Responsibilities Serve as Product Specialist for the assigned chassis and enclosed panel VFD products. Support the assigned products from both technical and commercial aspects. Support the assigned products from launch, implementation and SAP elements. Support the assigned products with PowerPoint training to internal & external customers Prepare and deliver timely, accurate quotes in response to RFQs from the ASE team. Evaluate customer requirements and recommend compliant technical solutions. Size and apply VFD and soft-starter equipment to the proper application. Collaborate with Automation Sales Engineers and factory support teams on complex opportunities and technical applications. Provide backup support for OEM/BDM quotations as needed to support OEM growth strategy. Maintain strong documentation and communication throughout the quoting and technical evaluation process. Use SAP / standard business tools (Excel/Word) to support quoting, documentation, and coordination. Travel 10-30% travel periodically as needed for customer / product support or internal training Limited travel to customer sites or factory training (commonly not to exceed 2-3 trips/month) Education Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience). Knowledge / training Working knowledge of VFDs and soft starters (capabilities, application fit, common options). Training/understanding of proper sizing and application of VFD and soft-starter equipment. Familiarity with electrical control and power circuits (preferred). SAP proficiency and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word. Experience Hands-on or application/technical support experience with VFD and soft-starter products in quoting, application engineering, sales engineering support, or field/technical service. Experience collaborating cross-functionally with sales engineering teams and factory/technical support groups. Preferred: control panel build exposure, electrical wiring experience (control and power), and basic troubleshooting experience with VFDs/soft starters. About WEG Electric Corp.
