
Preapprentice - Sheet Metal

Purpose
Typical unskilled assignments of pre-apprentices may include, but are not limited to, material handling, loading and unloading, set-up, staging, clean-up and site organization. These tasks must be performed under the direct supervision of a journeyman. Additionally, a pre-apprentice may perform low-skilled work with or without hand tools at the direction of his or her supervising journeyman. Pre-apprentices are traditionally not allowed to operate power equipment, welders, or perform layout or design services. Performs related work as required. Essential Functions And Responsibilities

High school graduate or GED Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Must have valid driver's license with good driving record Mental And Physical Competencies Required To Perform Essential Functions
Take directions from journeyman and follow through with task given Must be dependable (show up and ready to work on time) Must be able to communicate with leaders and co-workers Environmental Adaptability
At any given time, may be exposed to: Exposure to weather, heat, cold Wet and/or humid Vibration Exposure to dust/fumes Noise intensity Loud Proximity to moving mechanical parts Exposure to electrical shock Working in high/exposed places Exposure to toxic/caustic chemicals Equipment/Tools
