Sales Representative (Countertop and Flooring)

Summary The Sales Representative is responsible for growing and developing sales and profit margins of MSI’s countertop products with fabricators and kitchen & bath (K&B) retailers, as well as tile product lines with retailer and dealer networks within an assigned geographic territory.

Compensation This salaried, exempt position pays from $60,000 to $65,000 per year. The estimated annual pay for new hires generally ranges from $80,000 to $105,000 or more, depending on experience, education level and commission structure.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers within assigned territories, with a focus on retailer and dealer networks.

Promote flooring and countertop products to drive sales growth.

Provide product training and support to store personnel to enhance their ability to present and sell effectively.

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of company products, market trends, and the competitive landscape to position offerings strategically.

Manage displays, samples, and sales tools to ensure customer accessibility.

Advise dealers on retail pricing strategies, promotions, advertising, and return on investment, utilizing an understanding of retail financials.

Prepare quotes, discuss credit terms, and create sales contracts for customer orders.

Estimate delivery timelines based on company delivery schedules.

Analyze sales data to identify new opportunities and customer needs.

Leverage marketing materials such as catalogs, brochures, and vendor collateral to expand reach and promote products.

Research and assess customer demand based on evolving market trends.

Address and resolve customer concerns related to deliveries, returns, and credits.

Attend trade shows and industry events as needed.

Willing to travel up to 90%, with most travel being local and occasional overnight trips.

Perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Must possess a valid driver’s license

Previous sales experience is a plus

Industry experience is beneficial but not required

Strong math skills for calculating discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, area, and volume.

Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and in teams.

Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with CRM platforms preferred.

Strong communication, presentation, problem-solving, and negotiation skills

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
