Director of Analog Mixed Signal Design – Analog / SERDES (Automotive Transceivers)

This position is located in San Jose, CA. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in office and 2 days work from home. This role

is NOT

open to 100% remote.

Role Summary Seeking a Director of Analog Circuit Design to lead high‑speed, high‑linearity Analog Front End (AFE) development for automotive transceivers. This is a senior technical leadership role with ownership of AFE architecture, design reviews, and silicon execution, managing and scaling a high‑performance analog team over time.

Job Responsibilities

Own AFE architecture and specifications for automotive transceivers.

Lead design reviews and technical direction for TX/RX analog blocks.

Drive designs from concept through production in automotive‑qualified environments.

Manage and grow a small analog design team, with a mandate to scale.

Partner cross‑functionally with systems, digital/DSP, layout, test, and product teams.

Hands on participation in silicon debug/bring up.

Job Qualification Education

MSEE or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.

Experience

15+ years of analog or mixed‑signal IC design experience.

Strong background in high‑speed, high‑linearity AFEs.

Proven experience bringing analog designs to high‑volume production.

Prior people management or technical leadership experience.

Deep past hands‑on design and simulation experience, now operating at architectural/review level.

Strong Pluses

Experience with:

10GBASE‑T

10GBASE‑T1 (Automotive Ethernet)

TDD‑based transceivers

Automotive semiconductor background.

Working‑level knowledge of ISO 26262 (nice to have, not required).

Ideal Candidate Profile

Senior analog leader with experience from large or well‑established semiconductor company.

Comfortable transitioning from hands‑on designer to architectural owner.

Strong communicator with credibility at executive and technical levels.

Compensation and Benefits The base salary range for this position is $212,100 to $291,600 annually. We also provide competitive benefits, incentive compensation, and/or equity for certain roles. Company benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k), and paid leave.
