Summary
We’re expanding our team and looking for a Sales Representative to grow and support our Kansas and Missouri market territories. This position focuses on building strong relationships with municipal and industrial clients and promoting our water tower engineering and inspection services .

Ideal candidates will have:
Experience working with potable water infrastructure
Active involvement or membership in AWWA, MAC , or related organizations
Prior sales experience in the municipal, industrial, or water industry

Role Overview Reporting to the VP of Business Development and President/COO, and working closely with Marketing and Engineering, you will develop the territory, cultivate relationships, and drive opportunities for water and wastewater projects. You’ll be supported by a collaborative team to help you succeed in building the region.
Key Responsibilities
Prospect and qualify new accounts; make cold and warm calls; set appointments.
Conduct in-person customer meetings across the territory (with some overnight travel).
Build and maintain a healthy pipeline in CRM; track calls, meetings, and activities.
Prepare proposals and qualifications packages, including responses to RFPs/RFQs/SOQs.
Deliver presentations (small and large group) on KLM’s capabilities and services.
Attend and represent KLM at industry trade shows, conferences, and seminars.
Participate in city council or public meetings as needed.
Collaborate with leadership on territory planning and sales strategy.
Provide timely, accurate information to prospects and clients on products and services.
Continuously build industry knowledge to understand customer needs and project drivers.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications (Required)
Ability to read, understand, and respond to RFP, RFQ, and SOQ requests.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including group presentations.
Effective multitasking with solid administrative and organizational skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms.
Ability to travel throughout Kansas and Missouri; some overnight travel required.
Valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
3- 5 years of inside and outside sales experience.
Experience in water/wastewater, municipal infrastructure, or industrial markets.
Familiarity with municipal sales cycles, public procurement, and council/board processes.
Technical aptitude to understand tanks, coatings, inspections, and maintenance programs.
Experience preparing or managing RFP/RFQ/SOQ responses and long-cycle project pursuits.
Existing relationships with municipalities, utilities, engineering firms, or public agencies.
Prior success in territory development or technical/business development roles.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
~30–50% field prospecting and client meetings; ~50% office work.
Exhibit at trade shows and industry events; present at conferences and group sessions.
Travel within the region with occasional overnights based on client and event schedules.
