Job Location: NYC, Norwalk, CT, Remote/Hybrid

ICR’s rapidly growing Energy, Clean Tech and Industrials team is seeking an Account Supervisor/Account Director to work closely with account teams to provide superior support for an exciting range of public and private industrial, energy, and clean technology clients. The Account Supervisor/Account Director will work with leading companies across these sectors to communicate how they are helping to solve the world’s most consequential energy and industrial challenges. Work with exciting clients, including industry-leading public and private companies spanning aerospace & defense, renewable and traditional energy, nuclear energy, battery technology, energy storage, critical minerals, advanced manufacturing, AI infrastructure, and industrial technology sectors.
This Account Supervisor/Account Director is responsible for helping teams drive the tactical execution of strategic communications plans and programs to exceed client expectations. The ideal candidate is self‑motivated with a passion for storytelling and media relations, has experience in professional client relationship management, can excel in a team environment where management and junior staff collectively roll up their sleeves to do the work aimed at achieving outstanding results, has strong skills in critical thinking and organization, demonstrates effective team collaboration and management capabilities, the ability to plan and strategize at a high level, attention to detail, outgoing entrepreneurial energy, strong decision making and analytical skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, the ability to think strategically and creatively, excellent ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment and manage them in an orderly manner, and a willingness to roll up his/her sleeves to do the work aimed at achieving outstanding results.
Responsibilities:
Support senior account teams in leading day‑to‑day client relationships, serving as a key point of contact and trusted advisor for clients.
Develop and execute integrated communications strategies that align with client business goals, including commercial announcements, executive thought leadership, and corporate reputation.
Provide real‑time strategic counsel on industry trends, competitive landscapes, and potential reputational risks.
Draft and finalize high‑stakes materials, including commercial announcements, messaging frameworks, and multi‑channel communication plans.
Drive high‑level media strategy, leveraging deep reporter relationships to secure impactful coverage in top‑tier business and financial media across digital, print and broadcast platforms, as well as industry trade media and podcasts.
Draft, edit and proofread core communications materials such as press releases, media pitches, fact sheets, social media copy, and client updates.
Serve as an internal "quality control" lead, reviewing all briefing materials, including media backgrounders and messaging materials to ensure they meet expectations for accuracy, tone, and strategy.
Conduct industry, market and competitor research across the energy, clean tech and industrials landscape to inform messaging, thought leadership and client strategies.
Support new business pitches and business development efforts by contributing research, preparing pitch materials, drafting case studies, and helping develop presentation content.
Qualifications:
3-6 + years of relevant agency or client‑side PR experience
Excellent writing, verbal, and presentation skills
Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments
Ability to manage tasks, times, and meet weekly/monthly KPIs
Creative and energetic personality
Exceptional attention to detail and deadlines
Understanding of evolving PR landscape and interest in energy, clean technology and industrial sector trends
Previous experience working with industrial companies, energy, and clean technology companies a plus
B.S./B.A. required with concentration in public relations, marketing, business communications or related field preferred
