What You'll Do As the Director of Sales Consulting for ESOPs, you'll market the West Coast territory to execute on ESOP record keeping and consulting services for our existing clients and prospects. We are open to hiring at the VP of Consulting level for the right skills and experiences.

Some of the things you'll do:

Partner with our distribution teams on sales opportunities that involve ESOP plans.

Work with industry partners to help Principal maintain a strong leadership position and national presence in the ESOP arena.

Execute on complex consulting agreements.

Who You Are

Bachelor's degree or 8 years of equivalent experience required and a minimum of 5+ years experience in retirement, ERISA or employee benefits

3+ plus years experience working with ESOPs specifically

Must have proven and demonstrated ability to leverage ESOP experience and knowledge to define and sell value added consulting services

Strong demonstrated skills in consulting, negotiation, presentation, organizational and problem‑solving required, as well as superior interpersonal, analytical and oral written communication skills

Must be assertive and entrepreneurial

Must be able to build and maintain strong and effective relationships

Travel required up to 25% of the time

Additional Qualifications for VP Consulting

Bachelor's degree or 10 years of equivalent experience required and a minimum of 5+ years experience in retirement, ERISA or employee benefits

5+ plus years experience working with ESOPs specifically

Salary Range Information Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non‑sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

Salary Range (Non‑Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly) $141000 - $213000 / year

Salary Details

Director of Sales Consulting - ESOP: $141,000 - $191,000 / year

VP of Consulting - ESOP: $157,000 - $213,000 / year

Time Off Program Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short‑term illness. Employees don't accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Location This is a remote role with territory covering the West Coast. Candidates will need to live within territory near a major airport (WA, OR, ID, NV, CA, AZ, CO, UT).
