Job Summary
Managing Director - Equity Capital Markets (FinTech)
will lead and oversee the firm's FinTech‑oriented ECM efforts, including IPOs, follow‑on offerings, and private placements. This role requires a highly experienced ECM leader with deep FinTech market expertise, strong client relationships across the digital‑finance ecosystem, and a demonstrated track record of successful equity capital markets transactions.
Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management
Lead and manage the FinTech‑focused ECM team, setting strategic direction and ensuring high‑quality execution.
Mentor and develop junior bankers, fostering a collaborative, performance‑driven culture.
Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies, including those impacting FinTech issuers.
Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with FinTech clients such as digital banks, payments firms, lending platforms, blockchain/Web3 companies, and financial infrastructure providers.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the FinTech ecosystem, leveraging extensive industry relationships.
Serve as the primary point of contact for FinTech clients, providing senior‑level strategic and transactional guidance.
Transaction Execution
Direct the execution of IPOs, follow‑on offerings, private placements, and other ECM transactions for FinTech issuers.
Lead the development of pitch materials, valuation analyses, and offering documentation tailored to FinTech business models.
Coordinate with legal, compliance, syndicate, and other internal teams to ensure seamless and compliant execution.
Market Analysis and Strategy
Conduct ongoing analysis of FinTech market trends, valuation environments, regulatory developments, and competitive dynamics.
Develop and execute strategies to expand the firm's ECM footprint within the FinTech sector.
Provide market insights to internal stakeholders and contribute to firmwide FinTech strategy.
Financial Performance
Drive revenue growth and profitability for the FinTech‑focused ECM business.
Manage budgets and ensure efficient deployment of resources across the platform.
Prepare and deliver financial and strategic updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Experience
10-15+ years of investment banking experience, with significant time spent in equity capital markets.
Direct experience advising FinTech companies on ECM or broader capital markets transactions strongly preferred.
Established record of leading complex transactions and managing senior‑level client relationships.
Demonstrated leadership experience overseeing teams and driving business growth.
Skills
