ABOUT THE ROLE We’re partnering with a high-growth fintech platform transforming how SMEs access and manage capital. With a strong foundation in funding solutions and a rapidly expanding product suite across payments and cash flow management, this is a business scaling quickly with serious backing and ambition.
They’re now hiring their first
Head of Capital Markets , a pivotal, high-impact role at the heart of the company’s growth.
This is a
foundational hire
where you’ll own and build the entire capital markets function from the ground up. You’ll work directly with the CEO, lead capital strategy, and take full ownership of funding infrastructure, from modelling and lender origination through to structuring, negotiation, and ongoing reporting.
This isn’t a “hands-off” leadership role, it’s for someone who thrives in
h igh ownership, high autonomy environments and can operate across modelling, deal execution, and investor relationships simultaneously.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING
Own and develop the end-to-end financial model and FP&A function (portfolio modelling, cash flow, budgeting, board reporting)
Lead warehouse facility origination and execution with banks, credit funds, and institutional lenders
Structure and negotiate key terms (advance rates, covenants, eligibility, etc.)
Build and manage investor relationships across debt and equity providers
Deliver robust lender and investor reporting frameworks
Drive facility scaling and capital capacity planning
Partner with the CEO on capital strategy, fundraising, and balance sheet optimisation
Shape commercial structures for partnerships and distribution channels
REQUIREMENTS
Circa 7+ years in capital markets / structured finance / specialty lending
Strong expertise in receivables finance / SME lending economics
Advanced financial modelling skills, building models used in real credit decisions
Existing network across lenders, credit funds, or institutional capital
Comfortable operating in a lean, early-stage environment with full ownership
NICE TO HAVE'S
Background in fintech, alternative lending, or credit platforms
Experience across both bank and non-bank funding structures
Exposure to securitisation or structured products
CFA, MBA, or similar advanced finance credentials
