HELIOS is seeking mission-driven professionals to support a Department of Defense (DoD) program focused on advancing IT operations, cybersecurity governance, and modernization initiatives within the N6 environment. Cybersecurity Specialists translate mission and business requirements into secure technical architectures. Responsibilities include security engineering, system validation, vulnerability assessment, risk analysis, and compliance auditing.

Veteran Hiring Preference POS 1. Cybersecurity Specialist - Intermediate (IAM II) What You’ll Do
Gather and organize technical and mission requirements for security design
Support secure system configuration and validation activities
Conduct vulnerability assessments and assist in risk analysis
Test security products and systems to identify weaknesses
Support audits to ensure compliance with security plans and policies
Assist with firewall configuration, network security analysis, and cloud security implementation
Contribute to continuity of operations (COOP) and disaster recovery planning
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
4–8 years of cybersecurity experience
Experience with system
etwork security, risk assessments, and security policy implementation
POS 2. Cybersecurity Specialist – Advance (IAM III) What You’ll Do
Lead security architecture design aligned to mission and business objectives
Translate security and operational requirements into technical security designs
Perform system and network security analysis, including LAN/WAN design
Conduct advanced vulnerability assessments and risk analyses
Validate secure configurations and oversee system security testing
Lead compliance audits and ensure implementation of security controls
Provide expertise in firewall security, cloud computing security, cyber defense, and physical security analysis
Develop policy, continuity planning, and disaster recovery strategies
Assess hardware and software security posture across enterprise systems
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related discipline
8–12 years of progressive cybersecurity experience
Demonstrated experience leading complex security initiatives in DoD or federal environments
Core Compentcies

Vulnerability and risk assessment methodologies
Network and firewall security
Cloud security implementation
Security control validation and compliance auditing
System hardening and secure configuration
Disaster recovery and continuity planning

Requirements Preferred Certifications One of the following for the Advanced Roles: CISSP, CISSP-ISSMP, CISM, FITSP-M, GCIA, GCIH, GICSP, GSLC or any equivalent certifications
Intermediate Role: Security+, SSCP, CC, GMON, CASP+ (Security X), CCISO, CCSP, CGRC/CAP, Cloup +, GCSA, GSEC, CISSO or any equivalent certifications
