POLYWOOD® is hiring: Creative Director in Syracuse

POLYWOOD®, Syracuse, IN, United States

POLYWOOD | Hybrid / Remote | Reports To: CDO / VP of Brand For 35 years, POLYWOOD built one of the most trusted names in outdoor furniture: American-made, sustainably crafted, designed to last. Now we're doing something most brands only talk about:

creating a new category.

Outdoor living. Not furniture. Not product. A way of experiencing your space, frictionless to own, inspiring to live with, designed to make the outside feel as intentional as the inside.

This is the kind of creative brief that doesn't come around often. We're looking for the Creative Director who's ready to run with it.

The Role The

Creative Director

is the primary interpreter of the POLYWOOD brand vision, translating it into clear creative direction, compelling campaigns, and the standards that guide everything the creative organization produces.

You sit at the intersection of aspiration and execution. You balance the emotionally resonant side of the brand with the pragmatism and scale required to deliver high-volume creative across every channel. You lead the Art Directors, set visual direction for campaigns, and serve as the creative counterpart to the Director of Creative Production, ensuring what gets made is as good as what gets imagined.

POLYWOOD has a strong direct response heritage. That discipline is an asset. Your job is to add the creative dimension that turns performance into brand love.

What You'll Own Creative Direction and Campaign Development

Translate POLYWOOD's brand vision and outdoor living strategy into campaign concepts, creative briefs, and visual direction

Define creative direction across paid, owned, earned, digital, social, and experiential channels

Serve as the final authority on creative execution, ensuring every piece of work reflects the brand's ambition and identity

Balance emotional storytelling with measurable business performance, because this brand does both

Push the work. Challenge conventions. Keep the brand visually distinctive and culturally relevant

Creative Leadership and Team Development

Lead and mentor Art Directors across traditional and digital disciplines, and drive the creative direction of POLYWOOD's growing internal department

Partner closely with the Director of Creative Production. You define what great looks like; they build the systems to deliver it

Provide decisive, energizing creative feedback that raises the work and builds the team

Foster a culture where craft, curiosity, and ambition are the standard

Creative Standards and Brand Consistency

Establish and own the visual standards that ensure brand consistency across every channel and medium

Integrate UGC, AI-generated, and brand-generated content into a unified, coherent brand story

Balance speed-to-market with craft. This brand moves fast and makes things that matter

What We're Looking For

Hands-On Creative Expert

who leads through direction and feedback and isn't afraid to get in the work when it counts

Category Thinker

who understands what it takes to inspire a lifestyle, not just sell a product

Pragmatic Visionary

whose ideas are bold and whose execution is real

Collaborative Leader

who builds great relationships with production, brand, and business partners and great work comes from it

Qualifications

10+ years of creative leadership, ideally with consumer lifestyle, design, or retail brands

Portfolio demonstrating brand storytelling and campaign development across diverse mediums

Experience leading creative teams and working with production partners at scale

Ability to connect creative direction to business KPIs and consumer insight

Comfort with emerging creative technologies including AI-driven workflows

Passion for design, storytelling, and building brands people love

Why POLYWOOD You'll be defining what a category-creating brand looks like visually and emotionally, with the product story, the team, and the strategic support to do it right. If you've been waiting for a canvas this wide, this is it.
