Summary We are looking for a skilled writer and editor interested in supporting the Stephen T. Pearlman Volunteer Center. Their responsibility will be to write articles and/or ensure the accuracy and quality of the Department’s written materials. They would report directly to the Chief Volunteer Officer.
Date Upon agreement by the parties
Location Virtual or on site at 250 West 64th Street, New York, NY
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct interviews and prepare the articles
Edit copy and improve it for publication
Educate writers on best practices
Identify ways to improve the flow of materials
Advise writers on content
Adhere to writing best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or English
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Great attention to details
Strong interpersonal skills
Ability to give constructive feedback
Ability to create stories
Comfortable with computer systems, software and applications (email, Microsoft Word, Zoom, etc.).
Detail of Service Opportunity This position will begin upon agreement by the parties. The time required will vary based upon the number of documents that need to be reviewed. We will be able to establish a schedule and system to make the best use of everyone’s time.
