User Experience Engineer Job at DevSpot in San Francisco
DevSpot, San Francisco, CA, United States
DevSpot is building the home for builders.
We’re a global platform that brings together hackathons, bounties, gigs, and community into a single place—making it easier for anyone to go from idea → prototype → real product.
We care about speed, creativity, and accessibility. The future of building is AI-native—and we’re designing for that world from day one.
Role: AI-Native Product Designer / Front-End Engineer (Remote, Part-Time) We’re looking for a
hybrid designer + front-end engineer
who uses AI as a core part of their workflow—not a side tool.
This role is for someone who can
design, generate, and implement
product experiences end-to-end.
You’ll work directly on DevSpot’s core platform—creating and evolving our design system, shipping interfaces, and helping define what AI‑powered product development looks like in practice.
What You’ll Do
Design and ship product experiences from concept → production
Use
AI tools (Figma Make, generative UI tools, etc.)
to rapidly create and iterate on designs
Build and implement front-end components (React / Next.js)
Own and evolve
DevSpot’s design system
(components, tokens, patterns)
Translate product ideas into clean, scalable UI
Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and AI workflows
Continuously improve speed and quality of design → build pipelines using AI
What We’re Looking For
Strong front-end experience ( React, Next.js, modern CSS )
Strong product design skills (UI/UX, layout, interaction design)
Experience using
AI for design and development workflows
(this is not optional)
Experience with
Figma (bonus if you’ve used Figma Make or similar tools)
Ability to move quickly from idea → shipped feature
Comfort working in ambiguity and early‑stage environments
Strong taste—clean, modern, non‑corporate design instincts
Nice to Have
Experience building or maintaining a design system
Familiarity with Supabase or modern full‑stack workflows
Experience working on developer tools, marketplaces, or community platforms
Interest in AI‑native product development
How We Work
Remote, async‑friendly
Fast‑moving, low‑bureaucracy environment
High ownership—this is not a “pixel pusher” role
You will ship real product, not just mockups
Why This Role Is Different Most roles separate design and engineering.
This one doesn’t.
You’ll use AI to:
Generate interfaces
Refine them into real product
Ship them directly
