TEKsystems has a remote opportunity for a UX Designer. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of responsive design (touch/mobile design experience a plus), strong visual design acumen, experience with accessible design, and the ability to work across large teams and multiple teams. This individual must work autonomously, prioritize effectively, and have design system experience. Portfolio must demonstrate a clear visual hierarchy.
Responsibilities
Design application interfaces with a focus on workflow, integration, user interaction, and data visualizations, and proactively identify ways to improve processes and systems.
Collaborate with developers to translate designs into elegant user experiences.
Establish and maintain good relationships across departments and business areas.
Participate in walkthroughs to ensure quality and consistency of designs.
Own self‑development, stay current with UX techniques and tools, and demonstrate out‑of‑the‑box thinking.
Proactively and clearly communicate with all levels of leadership and varying sizes of stakeholder audiences, advocating for the end user.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Factors, Instructional Design or Computer Science preferred, or related work experience.
8+ years of experience applying user experience principles to visual and interaction design.
Proficient in responsive design techniques, data visualization, and interaction design.
Proficient with rapid prototyping tools (i.e. InVision, Sketch, Balsamiq).
Good understanding of CSS frameworks (i.e. Bootstrap, Foundation).
Proficient in visual design, with solid understanding of typography, layout, and color theory.
Expert in Adobe Creative Suite.
Ability to multi‑task and participate in multiple large and complex efforts.
Good attention to detail, and able to solve a range of design challenges.
Proficient in understanding UX research methodologies.
Knowledgeable of HTML, CSS, and jQuery/JavaScript.
Job Type & Location Contract position based out of Remote, OR.
Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
