General Function Selected candidates are intended to become a Retail Personal Banker II after completing a 4‑8 week onboarding and education program. The program includes rotations in Operations and Sales & Service, and culminates in a certification that demonstrates the skills needed for the Retail Personal Banker role.

The Retail Personal Banker II is a sales position focused on building relationships and promoting deposits, loans, fee‑based services, and customer retention. Responsibilities include selling a full range of banking products, using the consultative sales and service process, and interacting with staff for referral activity.

Accountability for risk is emphasized through regular exchange of ideas, adherence to policies, and risk monitoring. Customer experience must be positive, with consistent identification, assessment, and management of all risks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Use the consultative sales process and Financial Needs Assessment to build a thorough customer profile and identify current and future financial needs.

Maintain an in‑depth knowledge of retail consumer and small‑business products/services and recommend appropriate solutions.

Utilize CAMP and other marketing tools to proactively reach out to customers and set appointments for financial reviews.

Cross‑sell to the existing customer base and engage in outside sales activities (e.g., Membership Advantage onsite presentations, business sales calls, community financial literacy events).

Work closely with assigned business partners (Mortgage, Small Business, Commercial, and Investment) to refer customers when appropriate.

Consistently meet or exceed customer experience and production goals, enhancing year‑over‑year revenue growth as measured by the Financial Center P&L.

Guide CSRs on the sales and referral process.

Promote customer satisfaction with a friendly, helpful demeanor and professionalism.

Answer customer questions confidently and own customer issues.

Maintain confidentiality and uphold the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Adhere to established policies while opening/servicing the full range of retail products.

Participate in the consumer loan and bankcard process, owning loans from application through closing.

Participate in opening/closing the Financial Center or Bank Mart as directed.

Stay up to date on procedures that mitigate fraud and unnecessary risk or exposure.

Supervisory Responsibilities None.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

College degree or work experience providing transferable skills.

Experience in the financial industry preferred.

Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with sales activities aimed at acquiring new consumers or cross‑selling to existing customers.

Understanding of advanced math functions for credit and financial analysis.

Professional appearance and written and verbal communication skills.

Working knowledge of retail policies and procedures to make sound judgments.

Required S.A.F.E. Act registration through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) at time of employment.

Working Conditions

Normal office environment.

3–5 hours per day spent in outside business development activities.

Extended computer screen viewing.

Training requiring travel within the affiliate and flexibility in scheduling.

Travel outside the affiliate for classroom training sessions.
