About This Role The Human Resources Benefits Specialist will help administer and maintain employee benefits for Direct Support Workers, including completing employment verifications, responding to unemployment claims, enrolling employees in health insurance, and responding to workers’ compensation claims.
What You Will Do
Provide explanation of Accra benefit programs for direct support professionals.
Process all medical enrollment both monthly and during open enrollment.
Terminate benefits as needed and submit COBRA documents.
Provide explanation and answer questions regarding 401K options.
Process Unemployment requests for all program employees.
Process Paid Leave requests for all program employees.
Process Employee Verifications with a goal of 1-2 business day turnaround.
File Workers’ Comp claims in a timely manner and assist with investigations.
Assist with Accra educational materials.
Stay informed on appropriate state and national trends for the industry.
Qualifications
Associates degree or one year of experience in the human resources field.
Exposure to home health or human services is a plus.
Demonstrate knowledge of health benefit programs, well-being programs, organizational policies and related Federal and State laws.
Demonstrate creativity, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
Effective communication skills, and the ability to communicate challenging concepts in person, over the phone and in electronic communication.
Ability to adapt to rapid change and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with DHS policies is desired.
Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools.
