Field Service Representative

Position Summary
Records readings of watt‑hour meters and associated demand attachments, obtains probed and radio frequency data, and performs credit and collection activities. Connects, disconnects, installs, removes, and inspects self‑contained single‑phase watt‑hour meters.
The salary range for this position starts at Step 1 ($29.91) and progresses in accordance with the union contract. Check out the career site for an overview of our benefits.
Primary Duties
Collect readings both manually and automatically of watt‑hour and demand meters for completion of field meter orders, missed cycle reads, or other purposes.
Obtain probed meter and usage data.
Perform credit and collection activities.
Install/remove single‑phase self‑contained watt‑hour meters, including those associated with the sample test program.
Connect/disconnect single‑phase self‑contained watt‑hour meters.
Connect/disconnect A‑base meters.
Seal meters and associated equipment.
Report damage or evidence of tampering with meters or wiring.
Utilize all mainframe computer applications as necessary.
Perform field investigations.
Install and remove recording voltmeters.
Perform monthly meter inventory.
May be asked to perform the duties of an AMR Driver.
Perform other duties as assigned.
This position will have storm restoration and emergency assignments.
Typical Requirements (Minimum) Training and Experience
High School diploma or equivalent.
Prior electric utility experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills
Demonstrated understanding of and ability to apply electrical theory; mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity; proven ability to perform work safely and with minimum supervision in adverse weather conditions; present a professional image and communicate tactfully and effectively with customers; follow instructions. Clerical perception.
License(s)/Certificate(s): Motor Vehicle Operator’s license required. A proven, safe driving record is required.
Knowledge of geographical area is desirable.
