General Overview of Position Arcxis is seeking mechanical designers and engineers with experience in single‑family detached residential HVAC design and engineering. Responsibilities include performing manual J, S, D HVAC design, designing duct layouts in AutoCAD, integrating with in‑house frame designs per ACCA and IRC standards, collaborating across disciplines to ensure cross‑disciplined design integration.

Essential Functions Of The Job

Produce Manual J, S, and D calculations and designs using Wrightsoft.

Mechanical HVAC engineering and design of single‑ and multi‑family, low‑ and high‑rise residential HVAC systems.

Generate detailed mechanical design drawings in AutoCAD for construction documentation of mechanical systems for bidding and construction.

Prepare construction documents in AutoCAD.

Work with design staff and drafters to complete projects.

Code knowledge: energy and building code compliance, fluent in California Title 24, IRC Residential Codes, ICC International Codes, Uniform building codes.

Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills at all organizational levels.

Self‑directed, good initiative and a great multitasker.

Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.).

Requirements

BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent comparative experience.

Preferred 3+ years’ experience in mechanical design for residential building systems, code compliance, and construction.

Experience with various cooling systems, VRF systems, ventilation, and exhaust systems.

Experience with mid‑rise multifamily buildings, mixed‑use buildings, residential and enclosed parking garages.

Candidate must not require sponsorship for employment.

Work Schedule Monday – Friday day shift, with additional hours including weekend hours may be required in accordance with changing business needs.
