OVERVIEW
Founder Brew, a new publication dedicated to exploring the real lives, decisions, and psychology of people building companies — from startups to small businesses to creative ventures — is looking for an editor to shape and lead the outlet. This strategic and hands‑on role will allow you to set editorial strategy and help reporters execute on stories for this brand new Morning Brew, Inc. publication.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Pitch, report, and write stories and other journalistic endeavors for Founder Brew via newsletter, on‑site articles, and other distribution venues.
Focus on “as‑told‑to” narratives, speaking with founders.
Generate ideas for and lead/co‑lead non‑newsletter editorial initiatives, enterprise pieces, and evergreen content as we build out a digital home.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Interest and expertise in business writing and reporting.
At least 8 years of journalism experience with the ability to write in the Morning Brew style (engaging, informative, clever).
A self‑starter attitude with the ability to operate in a collaborative, quickly changing environment.
A combination of attention to detail and creative, strategic thinking.
Excellent communication skills with a mindset for collaboration.
Ability to operate in a high‑pressure environment with tight deadlines.
COMPENSATION $85,000 - $90,000 DOE. Final offers will be made within the provided salary range, commensurate with experience. The total offer package includes benefits highlighted in the perks section below.
