Essential Job Functions The Director of Quality is responsible for leading ADM’s Quality Management System and ensuring compliance with AS9100 aerospace standards. The position manages the Inspection Department and Quality Engineering. The role involves strategic oversight with hands‑on execution in a small company environment; work closely with production, engineering, and customers to ensure production conformity and continuous improvement.
Functions
Maintain and improve the AS9100 compliant QMS.
Ensure procedures, work instructions, and records meet customer and regulatory standards.
Act as the primary point of contact for customer quality issues, audits, surveys, etc.
Manage Quality Inspection and Quality Engineering in all stages including: in process, receiving, final, calibration, etc.
Ensure proper use of GD&T inspection methods and acceptance criteria.
Lead root cause analysis and corrective action efforts.
Lead continuous improvement efforts through lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and similar methodologies to reduce defects and scrap.
Track and monitor key quality metrics: PPM, scrap, rework, etc.
Education and Experience Required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience in aerospace quality.
Strong knowledge of AS9100, GD&T and inspection methods.
Experience with leading audits, corrective actions, and customer interactions.
Hands‑on experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
Strong problem solver who can move efficiently with limited resources.
Preferred
Strong background in precision CNC machining and CMM.
