Senior Cyber Claims Examiner
Seeking an experienced professional to manage complex cyber, technology, and data breach claims. This role involves handling high-exposure losses, conducting coverage analysis, and collaborating with insureds, brokers, counsel, and internal stakeholders throughout the claim lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of complex and high-severity cyber claims from initial notice through resolution
Analyze policy coverage, exclusions, endorsements, and applicable reinsurance provisions
Investigate and evaluate losses involving data breaches, ransomware, business interruption, privacy liability, and regulatory actions
Coordinate with insureds, brokers, breach response vendors, forensic firms, and outside counsel
Set and manage reserves in accordance with company guidelines and authority
Draft detailed coverage positions, reservation of rights letters, and claim summaries
Participate in mediations, negotiations, and settlement discussions
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and best practices
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior examiners, as applicable
Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, and legal teams on emerging cyber trends and loss drivers
Qualifications/Requirements
Minimum 7 years of claims handling experience, with significant focus on cyber, technology E&O, or professional liability claims
Prior experience with an insurance carrier or reinsurer strongly preferred
Advanced understanding of cyber insurance policies, coverage issues, and loss scenarios
Proven ability to handle high-dollar and complex claims Strong analytical, negotiation, and written communication skills
Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment within authority levels
Juris Doctor or relevant cyber/privacy certifications (CIPP, CISSP, etc.) a plus but not required
Compensation Package
Base salary range: $125,000 to $165,000+ annually
Annual bonus target
